Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling currently have the whole world by storm with their next project that will also mark their first collaboration, The Fall Guy. With an unarguable chemistry between the two with an extra punch of sarcasm, the pair — who were notably two of the leads of the Barbenheimer phenomenon —  have been busy promoting this very project as well.

But this promotion doesn’t seem to be going all too well, for Gosling is still stuck in his Ken-era, and this fact isn’t sitting well with Blunt. Thus, the Oppenheimer actress made it evident that she had more than just enough of her co-star still singing praises of Margot Robbie’s gem from 2023, Barbie while promoting their new movie together!

Emily Blunt Brutally Slams Ryan Gosling for Missing Ken

Recently, Gosling earned the honor to host Saturday Night Live, and in doing so, he promoted his upcoming movie with Blunt, The Fall Guy. Or, to be more precise, he tried to promote his upcoming movie, for instead of singing praises for his film, he was seen singing praises for Ken, i.e. his fan-favorite character from Margot Robbie‘s Barbie.

Although he initially said that he and Ken “had to break up,” he then sang a song on this very break-up: His iteration of Taylor Swift‘s iconic song All Too Well, with the lyrics of the song referencing his performance as Ken. But just as he sang, “If I said that I was doing fine, you know I’d be lying, ’cause I was just Ken, and now I’m just Ryan,” someone else popped into the picture: Blunt.

Stepping onstage, Blunt called Gosling out that instead of promoting their movie, he was once again talking about Ken. She said (via Saturday Night Live | YouTube):

“Look at you, you’re Kenning right now! And I hate there’s even a verb, alright? I resent that! Take the fur coat off! You’re embarrassing yourself, come on. Guys, I don’t mean to be harsh, but Ryan, you have to move on. It’s time.”

Though Ryan Gosling initially admitted to it, he then went back to singing about his Barbie fever. That was until Blunt came onstage once again… to hit him!

Emily Blunt Didn’t Go Easy on Ryan Gosling’s Ken-session

As a stubborn Gosling continued to sing praises for his Barbie character, an even more stubborn Emily Blunt stepped back onto the stage to hit him. Not once, but twice: Once with a bottle, and then with a chair! This was followed by an even annoyed reaction from the Oppenheimer actress as she said:

“Ken’s dead, okay? KEN IS DEAD!”

But hilariously enough, the La La Land star eventually ended up roping her into his musical performance. So now, both Gosling and Blunt were singing about their respective characters from the Barbenheimer phenomenon. As they sang together:

“And I miss all my Kens. And I miss Cillian Murphy, and you should really see The Fall Guy.”

Yet, nothing came close to the concluding part that had the two of them singing:

“We were Kitty and Ken, I wish you could have seen us. You were loyal to the end, and your guy had no pen-s. Must confess, we’re a mess to impress, now it’s time to wish Ken and Kitty, both of them, farewell.”

Just like that, the two masterminds bid farewell to their fan-favorite characters to let fans know they would see something completely different when they show up in the theatres for The Fall Guy.

But don’t worry, for even Gosling eventually admitted that “Ken will never die!”

The Fall Guy will be out in theatres on the 3rd of May, 2024.
