In a recent interview with Yahoo, Jones revealed that he was approached by Shawn Levy to reprise the role in Deadpool & Wolverine. However, the actor had faced so much difficulty in putting on the suit when he did The Last Stand which had a toll on his mental and physical health.

He even had to drink water through a straw when he was shooting the film and he didn’t want to relive that horrible experience again. Thus, he rejected the offer to be in the new Deadpool film. He said,

“Funnily enough I just got asked to do Deadpool, the new one now, and I spoke to the director and I just said it’s such a drama putting that suit on mentally and physically. I mean it had its mental toll as well because you’re in it and you can’t do anything all day, you can only drink through a straw. So we couldn’t strike the deal for Deadpool.”

It would have been amazing to have Jones return as the character in Deadpool 3. However, it is understandable that the actor does it want to go through the tedious process with the Juggernaut suit again. Fans can watch him as the character in X-Men: The Last Stand on Disney+.

Vinnie Jones is currently gearing up for the release of Netflix’s series The Gentlemen, which is a spin-off of his 2019 film of the same name. The actor is reuniting with Ritchie after more than 20 years since 2000’s Snatch. Jones recently spoke about his bond with the director and how they have come a long way over the years.

Jones stated that being directed by Ritchie is like being directed by a brother. They both had a great time reuniting and catching up while doing the series. He told RadioTimes,

“Guy and myself have come a long, long way since the Lock, Stock, and Snatch days. I think he was warmed that I was on the set and I was warmed that we were reunited. I’d reunited with Matthew Vaughn a few years ago on Kingsman, so it was just wonderful.

It’s like your brother’s directing it and you’re in a movie, that’s kind of how it is, that’s really the best way to describe it. I’m working on my younger brother’s movie. You’re gonna do your best. But I think it was a big deal to everybody.”

In addition to Jones, The Gentlemen stars Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, and Giancarlo Esposito among others. The exciting spin-off series will premiere on Netflix with all 8 episodes on March 7, 2024.
