Actress Chloe Bennet, known for her role as Daisy Johnson on the hit show Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., has caused a stir on social media after clapping back at a critic who dismissed the value of soap opera acting.

Charles Murphy, a self-proclaimed critic, took to Twitter to express his disdain for the genre. Bennet, a regular on the popular show for several seasons, was quick to call out Murphy for his dismissive and disrespectful comment.

All hell broke loose when one tweet about Chloe Bennet became one of those situations where fans were entertained by whose tweet had the last word. It all started with Murphy tweeting a GIF of Bennet suggesting the actress was either back in the MCU or was doing a project with AoS leads.

Among many comments, one that caught the critic’s attention was a @Half_Natty_ asking for his expertise on if Quake was reintroduced as a mutant “would she still be played by Chloe Bennett or a new actress?”:

Murphy did not take long to respond with a snarky response expressing that she was “just not the same caliber of the actress.”:

Bennet’s fans quickly came to her defense, with many praising her for standing up for herself and her profession. @KeyWatkins51299 seems not to have wasted a second to tweet a response calling his opinion “completely out of left field, and is honestly unnecessary.”

Before you knew it, Murphy had a response as well with a “not out of left field when I was asked a question about her”:

From a personal opinion suggesting Chloe Bennet’s return to the MCU, this almost seemed like it had turned into a “we-support-Bennet” campaign. Following @KeyWatkins51299’s response praising the actress’ performance for being “some of the best acting in the show,” the critic pulled the trigger with a tweet that suggested, “the best acting on a soap opera isn’t really a major accomplishment.”

Then came Chloe Bennet in her most authentic style with a tweet calling him a “mean loser”:

Now whether or not Bennet had the last good word, Murphy realized he was in the wrong and acknowledged it with one last tweet.

It’s clear that Bennet is not one to be dismissed or disrespected, and she’s not afraid to speak her mind and defend herself and her profession. So, to all the critics out there, be warned: Bennet is not one to mess with.
