CBS finally confirms the release date for Young Sheldon season 6. The Big Bang Theory spin-off has been renewed all the way until season 7. The show has only grown in popularity since its premiere and the double-season renewal certainly hints that the show has the next few seasons planned out as it dives deeper into Sheldon’s life growing up.

Unlike previous years, CBS actively shifted this season of the sitcom to be more of a family show with a great focus on all members of the Cooper family. Georgie (Montana Jordan) getting Mandy (Emily Osment) accidentally pregnant resulted in a string of problems for Sheldon and his clan in season 5. Sheldon struggled with his academics amidst all the drama at home.

Only Missy handled the situation quite well, even offering support to her mother and brothers who were having a hard time with the predicament. The Coopers will continue their story when they return later this year and luckily, CBS finally announced when they will be back on the air.

As posted on the official Twitter account, the sitcom is confirmed to debut season 6 on September 29, 2022. No more information has been revealed yet.

When does Young Sheldon season 6 premiere on CBS?
Season 6 will premiere Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022. It will remain in its 8 p.m. ET time slot. The time slot was initially occupied by its parent series, The Big Bang Theory. that was the network’s comedy night and it proved to be successful as it motivated the already massive fan base. Since The Big Bang Theory ended in 2019, Young Sheldon has taken over the spot followed by Moms.

That is why CBS isn’t moving the show from its current timeslot. While the show started as supplementary viewing to The Big Bang Theory, it has since evolved into a show with its own identity. Instead of a straight-up sitcom, it has become more of a family dramedy which makes it more relatable, therefore more appealing to a broader audience.
Young Sheldon Season 6 will premiere Thursday, September 29, 2022.
