Speedrunning is a method of playing a certain video game and beating it as fast as possible. Countless players have tried and succeeded in speedrunning but Infected Durian took it to the extra mile with no gear but with the advantage of a higher level due through a new game plus file.

It is a rare feat to accomplish beating a massive open-world game in less than two hours, but the content creator had the advantage of a well-equipped squad of pawns and a high-level Arisen for finishing the game before. Infected Durian challenged himself by not equipping any armor or using any weapons in his live stream without using any glitches or exploits at all.

The original length of the game is clocked around a modest 27 and a half hours for a decent playthrough, meaning the right mixture of doing the main story and doing side quests. Capcom didn’t hold back on the difficulty and the ridiculous spawn rate of enemies is causing problems for some, but not for Infected Durian.

Speedrunning became a trend that inspired many to beat the odds and play a game at their own pace, even if it could lead to some game-breaking moments. Capcom seriously underestimated the skill of the gaming community and Infected Durian should be applauded for his achievement.

Speedrunner Made Dragon’s Dogma 2 Look Easy

Dragon's Dogma 2 matches the difficulty of Soulslike games.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 matches the difficulty of Soulslike games.

The Soulslike genre has generated a massive following in recent years because of the difficult gameplay and obscure worldbuilding and some players have claimed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the perfect alternative until the next big thing for Soulslike drops this year through the Elden Ring DLC: Shadow of the Erdtree.

Not everyone possesses the skill or patience to beat a game that has much to offer like this one, and the content creator made it look like a simple walk in the park. Granted, Infected Durian most likely finished the game more than once which could explain his high level and pawns with fairly decent gear, but all he had to contribute in a fight were his fists.

Speedrunning is not for the faint of heart, it requires concentration, commitment, and focus with a dab of talent and luck. Perhaps Infected Durian studied every bit of the game to better prepare himself for his challenge. Nevertheless, it is an impressive act and the extent of his love for the game is well established in his live stream.

Capcom may have delivered its most technologically advanced game yet, even NPCs can take part in the action and defend themselves from threats, but not even the toughest enemies are a match for a player’s dedication to defying the odds.
