However, that’s not all as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to take charge, as the superhero franchise seems to be in disarray. However, the upcoming film is going to mark a new era as it will sow the seeds for reuniting the Avengers for a bigger threat. If all goes well this storyline would be the best thing from the current sage and will make one of the best films for a crossover.

Mark Ruffalo’s World War Hulk Will Reunite The Avengers

For years, fans have been yearning for a new Hulk film as the last film was released in 2008 featuring Edward Norton. However, after the establishment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we know and love, the idea of a solo Hulk project was never shown much interest by the executives.

As a result, the character was showcased only in other character’s movies or crossovers such as the Avengers series. However, as per reports from Alex Perez, a reliable industry insider it looks like Marvel Studios have a new road map and are developing projects to get back on track.

During an exclusive interview with The Cosmic Circus, Alex Perez shared how “The Avengers are “disassembled” so to speak,” as every superhero has something to do, and gave instances of several important characters. He said,

“Every hero is currently out doing their own thing. Captain America has his own team with Falcon. Bucky will be busy handling the Thunderbolts. She-Hulk’s busy being a lawyer. Doctor Strange is off on his own with Clea. Thor’s off-world with Gorr’s daughter. Valkyrie is taking care of New Asgard. Scott is spending time with his family. The Scarlet Witch is resting. Vision is on a journey of self-exploration. Hawkeye’s retired. The only potentially “active” Avengers on the roster right now are Wong, Captain Marvel, Bruce Banner, Shang-Chi and Katy.”

He added, that he has found some sources, who have told him how Marvel is developing a World War Hulk project, that will set up numerous superheroes for the Avengers roster.

“However, there will be a story line that will force multiple heroes to unite. According to some sources, there is an interest from Marvel in developing a World War Hulk project, as a way to set up multiple street-level heroes as part of the Avengers roster to prepare them for the impending battle with Kang.”

Needless to say, the franchise had reportedly thought of not replacing Kang the Conqueror as their main villain despite the whole Jonathan Majors controversy. However, despite insider reports, Mark Ruffalo has a saddening update for the fans.

Mark Ruffalo Shares Why The Hulk Will Never Receive a Solo Project

Mark Ruffalo’s phenomenal portrayal of the strongest Avenger and the down-to-earth portrayal of Bruce Banner has made him the best actor to portray the character, and he played a key role in the franchise’s success. Most of his co-stars including Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, and Robert Downey Jr. got a standalone project.

He never received one, with reports coming from several reliable scoopers, Ruffalo has finally shared why fans will never receive a standalone film. During an exclusive interview with GQ, the actor shared how involving CGI in the film to develop various aspects of the character in a film often led to financial challenges. He said,

“I’d love to do a standalone Hulk, I just don’t think that’s ever going to happen. It’s very expensive if you did a whole movie, which is why they use the Hulk so sparingly. I priced myself out!”

Although this is concerning news for Marvel and fans of The Hulk, they need not worry as the superhero franchise has devised new plans to get back on track by preferring quality over quantity. Nevertheless, only time will tell if Marvel can bounce back strongly after the departure of the big names and the standalone film will make a lasting impact in the minds of the fans.

The Avengers (2012) can be streamed on Disney+.
