Suicide Squad is the latest superhero project that fumbled in gaming after the developers applied a live service structure. The gaming community is almost ready to say goodbye to the game, but the developers could win the fans back with the imminent arrival of Mrs. Freeze to bolster the roster.

The game is not getting the treatment the developers anticipated and the community has its good reasons. However, the developers seem to have a solid roadmap for the game’s foreseeable future and will heavily emphasize adding new playable characters to increase the entertainment factor.

Rocksteady Studios took a massive hit with its latest project and is reeling from the loss and humiliation, the developers found success with the initial Batman Arkham trilogy but took a different approach for this game, and are suffering from the risks of a live service structure.

The gaming community has lost interest in the game, especially after the developers had to move up the release date for the second season of Kill the Justice League.

Despite what the gaming community may feel about the game, the developers have no plans to scrap the roadmap and to go back to the drawing board. The game was criticized for having a generic gameplay shared by all playable characters and was even made fun of by other game developers like NetEase Games.

Footage of Mrs. Freeze’s traversal system might be an appropriate response.

The studio had faith in the game, however, the recent stats about the declining number of players should give the developers a reason to reconsider plans for the game. Applying the live structure strategy was a gamble and the studio is probably reeling from the loss.

Perhaps the developers intend to win back the fan’s favor by working on new characters with unique abilities but should have applied that from the get-go. The ice path traversal of Mrs. Freeze may not be enough to save the game and it might be time for the developers to consider other options.

All the planning and designing may now be wasted since the gaming community refuses to support this game further. It will not matter if the developers have ambitious plans for adding new characters beyond the second season if no one will be playing.

Perhaps it is time for the studio to cut its losses and avoid embarrassing the company and the characters anymore. The developers should consider moving on given the current state of reusing these assets and progressing to other projects with a much safer foundation.

The game suffered from a lack of oversight and was neglected due to poor leadership. There are other successful live service games for the developers to take notes but failed to do so causing the game’s untimely failure.

Fancy animations and traversal will not be enough to save the game. The developers need a miracle to keep this project afloat.
