Helmed by the mastermind mangakas Tite Kubo sensei and Masashi Kishimoto sensei, Bleach and Naruto are undoubtedly two of the greatest manga/anime projects of all time. With an uncountable fan following continuing to keep the fame of both projects, both of these have managed to leave their viewers amused and satisfied to the core with their brilliantly captivating storylines.

But while many would say there’s no comparison between the two, a sect of people still can’t help but point out that Kubo sensei’s saga is better than Kishimoto sensei’s. The reason? Well, there are one too many, considering how this sect hasn’t hesitated to throw major shade at Kishimoto sensei for obvious story flaws.

Bleach is Superior to Naruto? That’s What Fans are Saying!

Although both have incredibly successful fame and admirably fascinating storylines, Naruto and Bleach are similar but different in their own respect. While Masashi Kishimoto‘s saga features the titular ninja protagonist Uzumaki seeking the true recognition he deserves, Kubo’s universe stars Ichigo Kurosaki, the Soul Reaper who devotes his life to protecting the oppressed.

However, even with such different tales deciding the future of the fan-favorite leads and all the people surrounding them, fans have found a way to compare both the star-studded universes. And in doing so, a majority of them have inevitably come to the conclusion that Tite Kubo sensei’s mammoth franchise is superior.

That being said, a lot of fans have even presented multitudes of reasons behind this conclusion, which are all too reasonable. In fact, many of them even pointed out the obvious story flaws in Kishimoto sensei’s masterpiece storyline in the debate that took place on Reddit, with r/ Neither_Ocelot_1840 claiming:

“In my opinion Bleach is Arguably better than Naruto.”

Not only that, but this Redditor continued to justify through the Reddit post just why Kubo sensei’s saga is preferable over Kishimoto sensei’s, sharing:

“The one reason why I prefer Bleach over Naruto is how they use the supporting cast more effectively..Bleach isn’t perfect, But at least it’s not a Naruto and Sasuke Wankfest.”

Okay, that is truly understandable. But that isn’t all.

From the major key plots of Uzumaki’s storyline to the minor points that many wish could be changed, fans are raining down without hesitation to finally speak their hearts out on what truly went wrong with Kishimoto sensei’s superhit franchise.

Fans Have One Too Many Reasons For Believing in Bleach‘s Eminence

Kurosaki over Uzumaki? At least that's what fans are saying!

For every universe that has a lot of fans, there are also a lot of opinions. That’s exactly what happened with this Reddit debate as well. Though this time, Uzumaki feels like the one losing the debate, for reasons like how Kurosaki’s narrative “gives more focus to more characters” and proves to be more entertaining because of its “developed and fully realized” characters.

For instance, fans can’t help but point out how Kishimoto sensei’s saga felt like “a missed opportunity” for the other protagonists and side characters who weren’t shown to exercise their powers to the fullest of their abilities. Then there’s the fact that Ichigo Kurosaki‘s story quite literally has a “better drip.” (No arguments over this one!)

Adding to this is how Kishimoto sensei seems like he “isn’t good at female characters” as well as sequels and continuing storylines, considering how many fans were disappointed with Boruto and feel like it “ruin[ed] what the previous story built.” That being said, Kubo sensei’s saga has better pacing too, so that’s another plus point.

Though fans are willing to admit that Uzumaki’s story has merits and hype moments of its own, they also feel the need to acknowledge and point out at the same time how his saga’s fights feel “hollow” and without “emotional weight” as compared to Kurosaki’s story, which brings about a lot more excitement and relatability.

All in all, here are some of their summed-up justifications as to just why they would prefer Kubo’s universe over Kishimoto’s any day:

Truth be told, these opinions and reasons are unarguably justifiable, and thus it may be concluded that Kubo sensei deserves a win over Kishimoto sensei in this one.

But there’s always a place for counterarguments and counter justifications, so do let us know your opinions on this debate as well!

You can read Bleach and Naruto on the Viz app/website, and stream both of them on Hulu.
