Fans still can’t seem to get over their excitement for the new trailer of Deadpool & Wolverine that dropped on Monday. Marvel scooper Daniel Richtman added to this excitement by revealing an interesting scoop on his Patreon channel. He reported that Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President, was highly impressed by the upcoming movie Deadpool & Wolverine.

Feige’s love for the film may accelerate the entry of X-Men characters, Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine, into the Avengers team. The studio already had plans to include these characters in Avengers: Secret Wars. However, Richtman revealed that Feige wants to fast-track the process and bring Jackman and Reynolds into Avengers 5 itself.

The appearance of Reynolds and Wolverine in future Avengers movies is no surprise as the trailer has already prominently featured the TVA, indicating a connection to the multiverse. The popular rumor suggests that TVA recruits Wade Wilson for a multiversal mission that will lead to the events of Secret Wars. The rumor also suggests that Wilson’s mission is to recruit Jackman’s Logan for the cause of saving the multiverse.

Some rumors also suggest that Deadpool and Wolverine are just two of the superheroes recruited from all sorts of realities by TVA to prevent multiversal wars. With Kevin Feige’s new reported plans, Hugh Jackman may face off against a new actor replacing Jonathan Majors as Kang in Avengers 5. It is also entirely possible that the adamantium-clawed angry mutant will lose the first fight. Interestingly, Marvel is still in the process of rewriting the scripts for Avengers 5 and 6.

Kevin Feige’s reported interest in predominantly featuring Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool shows how much the studio relies on these X-Men characters. Marvel Studios expects the movie to save not only the multiverse but also the MCU from falling apart. The trailer’s reception suggests that Marvel is headed in the right direction with the new film.

Reynolds’ film dethroned Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man: No Way Home as the most-watched trailer in 24 hours (via THR). The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer received 365 million views while Spider-Man: No Way Home was launched to 355 million views in 2021. Reynolds and Jackman are also joined by Emma Corrin, who will play the lead villain in the film. The movie will also feature The Void and an X-Men cameo from the 20th Century Fox movies.

The film is the first R-rated movie in the MCU and the first movie to be headlined by a previously Fox-held X-Men character. Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019, thus allowing Marvel access to its X-Men characters. Deadpool & Wolverine is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
