Director Hyung-Tae Kim Reveals His Favorite Stellar Blade Skins
The director is making his rounds to promote his first console game in South Korea and talks about the skins available in the game. Many fans were in attendance and shared the same enthusiasm as the director when it came to Eve’s extensive wardrobe.
I can’t choose one particular cloth because they are all my favorite. However, I really like the basic clothes Eve is wearing because I personally adjusted the design for that, so it is one of my personal favorites. The skin suit that Eve is wearing when she takes off other clothes was designed 10 to 15 years, so I personally like that one too but it does not fall under the category of clothes. And I really wish you guys would play Eve with clothes on.
Kim is a little biased given the personal contribution he made in designing the Planet Diving Suit, and the story behind the Skin Suit was decades in the making. The fans are also eager to see the uncensored version of the game and even started a petition to undo the censorship, which was heavily featured in promos and previews.
Many were also theorizing that this was all a ploy or a set up by Sony to weaken the sales of the game, which would allow them to acquire the South Korean developers for themselves and control the franchise. Perhaps a worked-up fan with a tin foil hat would believe such schemes, but it is highly unlikely and extremely unethical.
The Controversies About the Stellar Blade Skins Didn’t Bother the Director
Kim made controversial statements about his decision to feature some bold and daring character designs for the game and stated his intention was only to depict powerful female protagonists. While it also helped make the game more appealing to a larger audience, it already achieved an impressive accolade of having the highest Metacritic user score of the year on the PlayStation 5.
Despite what others may think of the daring imagery and outfits the game features, Kim designed these skins with no malice or any nefarious intentions. He is aware of what could attract audiences and uses it to his advantage. Players from different parts of the world also praised the game’s uniqueness and commended the developers for their creativity and boldness.
The fact that Kim designed some of these skins a decade ago is a testament to his commitment, a dream come true for him as a director, and a major win for the gaming industry. Kim had a vision and simply manifested it into reality. It only took years to make, but his creativity was ahead of his time, and the final product was worth the wait.
