The grit, the gory, and the glory are more than enough to launch anyone into a full-blown panic attack mode in the wrestling world, and the Australian professional wrestler and current Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was no exception to this. As it turns out, the hardcore WWE star has a super soft and insecure side to herself.
This comes after the revelation from the Mosh Pit Kid herself, who admitted to having a straight-up panic attack for quite some time backstage before her incredible moment at WrestleMania 40. But this miserableness wasn’t because she was scared of her opponent Becky Lynch, but rather because of nervousness due to a personal thought of Ripley’s.

In the ring, every wrestler seems as formidable as ever when they crash upon their opponent with full might and strength, giving it their all until one of them comes out victorious. But what happens backstage, before all of the mess in the ring begins?
Well, for Rhea Ripley, it’s all nerves.
As the Australian wrestler shared at the recently held panel at WWE World (via WrestlingNewsCo | YouTube), her Wrestlemania XL match didn’t quite come as a piece of cake for her. Why? Because she launched into a full-blown panic attack a mere 2 hours before the event started.
Sharing how she truly felt before jumping into the ring to face Becky Lynch at the major wrestling event, The Eradiactor said:
“I legit was having a straight-up panic attack for 2 hours before I walked through the curtain. I was like violently shaking, just nervous.”
Well, if we’re truly honest, it is only understandable that Ripley was feeling this way because the event was truly one of the most important events in the wrestling world, and it could quite easily get anyone weak in the knees backstage.
However, there’s a twist to this story, too. Yes, the merciless Mosh Pit Kid was terribly nervous before the match, but it wasn’t because she was scared to face her opponent for the night, i.e. Lynch. Instead, it was for a reason that made The Nightmare grateful for the nerves.

During the same panel, Ripley also let out that instead of feeling embarrassed for having undergone such nervousness, she was grateful “that the nerves were there.” Why? It showed that she loved the event and her profession enough to worry about the losses and the wins.
As she continued to share:
“If you don’t get nervous before you go out, especially at WrestleMania, you obviously don’t love it enough. That’s the way I think about it. I’m glad that the nerves were there.”
Perhaps this deep love for what she was doing was also the reason and a massive contributor to her breathtaking victory over Big Time Becks after a solidly entertaining match at the WrestleMania XL event!
Well, for what it’s worth, Ripley truly stands as one of the most indomitable women wrestlers in the wrestling world — one who is yet to be defeated, even with the intensely fierce nerves she faces before massive events like WM!
