Bloodborne is an underutilized PlayStation property that could be getting a remaster treatment sometime soon after CEO Hideaki Nishino reveals his love for the game. Nishino has ascended the corporate ladder within Sony, and his power could give the fans what they want.
The Soulsborne games are not for the faint of heart and Nishino admitted that he may not be the best player but it did not affect his passion for the franchise. The gaming community has been begging Sony for a remaster and it is now highly possible given the new regime.
Hideaki Nishino Is a Huge Fan of Bloodborne
During Jim Ryan’s reign as CEO, all of the pleas and requests of the gaming community for a remaster or performance boost were all refused for reasons unknown. Perhaps Nishino and Hulst will do the right thing and give the game the treatment it deserves and remaster it for the current-generation hardware. In a recent interview, Nishino shared his experience with the genre and expressed his love for single-player games.
One of the 2 new PlayStation CEOs Hideaki Nishino is a big fan of single player games and Bloodborne!

Perhaps the community will begin to see more single-player content from Sony in the following years and go back to the roots of what made the platform a massive success in the last console generation.
I love single-player games. Because of the pandemic, I tried to play Bloodborne. It’s a challenging game to me. I was speaking to my friends about how I can’t go through this [particular] stage. People said, ‘how is that difficult, you can do it.
Nishino mentioned in the interview that he began to play the game during the height of the pandemic and underestimated the difficulty. FromSoftware’s CEO and game director Hidetaka Miyazaki intentionally made his games hard and wanted to teach players a valuable lesson of never giving up.
The Soulslike genre is not everybody’s cup of tea and Nishino enjoyed suffering with his friends, which became a core memory for him. Nishino may not be the best player but he understood the message that Miyazaki was trying to convey.
Nishino Could Make Bloodborne Remastered a Reality
Sony had a strong lineup of single-player and story-driven games from various first-party studios, which put them on the radar of the gaming community. However, it seems like this particular franchise is getting sidelined.
Miyazaki has shown a great deal of love for the franchise and added Easter eggs in Déraciné. Fans believed it was an announcement for a sequel but it was the developers’ way of honoring it. Nishino could greenlight a remaster project and permit Miyazaki to develop a sequel.
Miyazaki felt bad for misleading the fans and believed he caused the company an inconvenience by giving false hope. Anything is possible and the new heads need to read their audience and give them something to look forward to.
Sony fails to see the value of the game and give the fans the project they long for. The demand is high and it is evident that it would make this remaster a guaranteed success.
