Invincible Season 2 has managed to test the patience of its audience by splitting the eight episodes into two parts. According to fans, it was a greedy move from Amazon Prime Video to stretch out the success of the series, but it has clearly backfired. When the fifth episode dropped on Thursday as part of Season 2 Part 2, no one seemed to care about the previously successful series.
Fans pointed out that the downfall of Invincible Season 2 should be analyzed for how studio greed can ruin a great show. While some fans are fed up with waiting for the episodes, the series claims that the waiting period will reduce considerably between the second and third seasons.

Fans have had enough from Amazon Prime Video. The studio made them wait years for a second season of Invincible only to break the season into two parts with a four-month gap in between. While Invincible Season 2 Part 1 left a cliffhanger at its end, fans didn’t care anymore for the answers. When Part 2 Episode 5 finally started streaming on March 14, many were not even aware of its release.
Fans took to X to comment on the downfall of such an acclaimed series. One fan commented that studios and streaming platforms should study Invincible‘s fall from fame. A few felt that the break between the eight episodes was odd, as they did not do much to improve the animation quality. Many fans shared that the studio’s decision killed their hype by making them wait three to four months for new episodes.

However, it should be noted that the four-month gap between parts 1 & 2 of Season 2 was nothing compared to the three-year-long hiatus between the first and second seasons. However, both these delays were used by Robert Kirkman and the team to prepare for Season 3 and other specials from the Invincible universe.
Why Did Invincible Season 2 Take So Long To Make?
The last episode of the first season of Invincible was released on Amazon Prime Video on April 29, 2021. However, after more than two years, Season 2 premiered on November 3, 2023. The lengthy wait was attributed to the production process of animated projects. The high-quality animation along with the numerous characters, multiple dimensions, and plenty of action sequences required a long time to achieve.
While the wait has disappointed many fans, critics still have highly positive reviews for the series. The show has high-level writing and animation, matching up to the first season. Invincible Season 3 was also developed alongside this season, which means the wait for the next season will be considerably less (via Collider).
