Marvel’s Moon Knight followed Oscar Isaac in the first season as he played a man suffering from dissociative identity disorder (DID) who not only has multiple personalities or ‘alters’, but also serves as a vessel for the Egyptian god Khonshu. Since Isaac’s Marc Spector / Moon Knight was first introduced in the MCU almost two years ago, many fans have been wondering if Jeremy Slater’s miniseries will ever see the release of a second season.
In October 2022, the Show Me a Hero actor, 44, revealed that he had begun talks with Marvel Studios about reprising his role as Moon Knight, either in a sequel series or in a different project. Isaac was concerned about creating a “worth telling” and “interesting” backstory for his character.
Meanwhile, recent rumors suggest that Kit Harington’s Black Knight, also known as Dane Whitman, may return in the potential second season. So, will he face off against Isaac’s Moon Knight? Are fans happy with the multiverse-shattering rumor?
Will Kit Harington’s Black Knight Face Off Against Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight in Season 2?
The first season of Moon Knight premiered on March 30, 2022, starring Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight, the character who brought the Marvel supernaturals to life in the MCU. The series ended with fans clamoring for more, and it became an instant hit. Unfortunately, the original plan for Jeremy Slater’s series was to be a limited series—a one-and-done venture.
But things have changed from then on. How are we able to say that? A recent scoop from Marvel Updates via X indicates that the studio plans to release the second season in 2026.

Marvel fans have also been giddy with anticipation following the shocking revelation that Kit Harington will be reprising Dane Whitman, also known as the Black Knight, in the upcoming season. That being said, the excitement is building to a fever pitch due to the rumors that Whitman (who debuted in The Avengers #47) will face Isaac’s Moon Knight.
The Black Knight and Moon Knight have a long history in comic books, with their paths crossing numerous times in various storylines. Given that Black Knight & Moon Knight are both mystical characters in the MCU, it would make perfect sense for them to collide. Harington’s portrayal of Dane made his live-action debut in the MCU flick Eternals (2021).
What about Isaac? The actor revealed to ComicBook in October 2022 that he was in discussions with Marvel Studios to reprise his role as Moon Knight for a potential second season or may be a different project. Isaac was anxious to think of another “interesting” and “worth telling” story for the character:
“Truthfully, it’s about the story. Is there a story worth telling? Is it interesting?… There have been some specific conversations. They were pleasant. The spilling of the details it that there’s no details. We don’t know [if there will be a second season], but we’re talking about it.”
As Marvel Studios continues to explore the idea of a multiverse, anything is possible in the MCU.
Black Knight vs. Moon Knight: Fans Are Not On Board With This Idea?
But while the idea of two iconic Marvel characters going head-to-head is certainly enticing, some fans are hesitant to fully embrace the rumor. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for shaking off things with unexpected twists and turns, and the prospect of a multiverse-shattering showdown between the Black Knight and Moon Knight may turn out to be too much for some fans to handle.
And the potential conflict between Moon Knight & Black Knight could have far-reaching consequences. Are fans ready for the multiverse-shattering rumors that such a battle could bring? Let’s hear a few of the fans’ voices via X:

No one cares. The Moon Knight show and Eternals movie were years ago. At this point no one cares.
