The first three games in the series revolve around the protagonist, Marcus Fenix, while the next main title follows the story of his son, James Dominic Fenix, and then his friend, Kait Diaz. Cliff Bleszinski, who designed the first three installments, drew inspiration from games like Resident Evil 4, Kill Switch, and Bionic Commando.
Gears of War Fans Are Already Affirmative of the Next GoW’s Success
Despite uncertainties about the game being under development, fans have sparked conversations on the internet. And they appear enthusiastic about it. Some, in fact, say they’d be surprised if GoW isn’t mentioned anywhere this year.
“I’d be very surprised if 2024 came and went without a mention or look at Gears 6. Another fan named Doug Dimmadome believes that “Gears has always been the best Xbox franchise.” He is not wrong, provided that all the games in the franchise have been received well by critics across the globe. Furthermore, the series is said to have generated $1 billion for the Windows maker.
Both the latest mainline series, Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, were developed by The Coalition and have collectively sold over 6 million copies worldwide. Last year, a leak suggested that the game might arrive in 2026. However, with the latest developments in the news, we may get a glimpse of it this year.
