The Iron Man saga has had some of the most iconic villains throughout its run, one of which included the fan-favorite, Sam Rockwell. For one who played the ancillary villain, Justin Hammer, in the second installment of the film series, the then-40-year-old actor did an absolutely remarkable job at intimidating the audiences.

But as intimidating as he seemed in the 2010 film, Rockwell seems quite the opposite in a recent video that has been going viral on the internet. The video is basically a compilation of some of the now-55-year-old actor’s more goofy moments, which has led to one sudden epiphany hitting fans: Rockwell would have been the perfect Deadpool of the ’90s!

Iron Man 2‘s old clip going viral highlights his goofy side

It is an unarguable fact that Sam Rockwell can nail just any role as efficiently as ever. Be it an intimidating one or a comedic one, he knows how to pull everything off with the utmost perfection, leaving that impression on his audiences forever.

But what many audiences are unaware of is the fact that this very actor, who played the intimidating villain Justin Hammer in Iron Man 2, is just as goofy as he is sincere. And that’s exactly the reason why he has been making rounds on the internet lately.

Recently, @filmsguild took to their Instagram handle to share a video compilation of the Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri actor, which included all of his hilariously goofy entrances into Jimmy Fallon‘s The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon talk show.

In all of those seconds-long clips, the Charlie’s Angels star can be entering the show in the most lively, carefree, and ‘unapologetically me’ manner possible, dancing his way in and enjoying himself like he doesn’t have a care of the world.

As much as this clip is capable of making someone’s day, it also pointed out something exceptionally perfect, although many would have failed to notice it before: Rockwell could have very easily nailed it as the Deadpool of the ’90s.

Before you agree/disagree with us, here are the facts: Rockwell is handsome; he holds the very irresistible charm that Wade Wilson naturally embodies; and he has the perfectly matching level of sarcasm as the iconic Marvel Jesus.

Adding to this is the fact that he knows how to immaculately balance between sincerity and goofiness, just like the fan-favorite anti-hero. Last but not least: Because even fans agree with us! As one fan mentioned in the comment section of the Instagram post:

What’s more, is that this very comment has garnered a whopping 1,559 likes from fans. After listing all of these qualities and similarities between the two, what more reasons does one require to believe that Rockwell could do an absolutely immaculate job of nailing the role of an iconic Wade Wilson of the ’90s?

At the same time, we would like to mention that we absolutely love Ryan Reynolds in the role, and wouldn’t swap him for the world. But that doesn’t mean Sam Rockwell shouldn’t be given a chance. Perhaps Marvel could shift some gears and make him a ’90s variant of the fan-favorite character? (That’s not a bad idea for the record!)
