These days, if you hear some news about Ryan Reynolds and it isn’t witty, sarcastic, or simply hilarious, then that news just can’t be about Reynolds at all. Just like how the Deadpool star took to dealing with photo leaks from the sets of his upcoming Deadpool 3 in the most sarcastic way by posting his very own photoshopped versions of the leaked images.

Or like this most recent one, where Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy feared his friendship with the fan-favorite actor would be in jeopardy if he committed one mistake that was seemingly unforgivable in the eyes of Ryan Reynolds. Which, honestly, sounds serious, but isn’t that serious after all. Well, at least some parts of it, considering how it is related to Deadpool 3!
Shawn Levy Fears One Mistake Could Cost him his Friendship with Ryan Reynolds

It is true that Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy have chemistry of their own, with their own inside jokes shared in their friendship. And just like the Comedian-American actor cum producer, the Canadian director is quite as witty and sarcastic himself.
Recently, on the red carpet of the recently held DGA Awards, filmmaker Levy was asked by Deadline if the trailer for Deadpool 3 will drop during the Super Bowl on the 11th of February, 2024. To this, all that Levy had to say was:
“I’ve heard that too.”
Since this was clearly not enough of an answer, the director was further probed into sharing why he has decided to keep mum on the third installment of the Deadpool saga. This time, Levy’s answer was much elaborated, but with a serious note of hilarity.
Answering, Shawn Levy said:
“I so cherish my friendship with Ryan Reynolds and it would be so sad if it ended in murder. And if I answered you with anything Deadpool-related, it would end with my untimely death, and that would be so sad.”
There you have it: The one ostensibly unforgivable mistake that could quite sarcastically lead to filmmaker Shawn Levy‘s death at the hands of Ryan Reynolds is speaking even one mere word about Deadpool 3!
On a serious note, probably the main reason why he doesn’t want to let out more about his upcoming MCU film is that he is quite literally done with all the set leaks the movie has been facing as of late, which has already given fans more than just enough of an outline of what the film could potentially hold.
And then again, if Levy broke the rule and made the very mistake that could potentially land his life in danger at the hands of none other than the deadly Deadpool, then he wouldn’t be able to make more masterpieces with his good ol’ pal, alive or dead, would he?
Meanwhile, Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds are Reteaming for a New Project

While Shawn Levy couldn’t drop the slightest of hints or tease anything about Deadpool 3, he was allowed to talk about his next project with Ryan Reynolds, Boy Band, the script for which has been helmed by Reynolds and screenwriter Jesse Andrews.
First announced a year ago back in February 2023, this film would feature the Free Guy star starring and producing in it with Levy directing, and would notably serve as the fourth collaboration for the pair of besties. Although he didn’t give much of the plot for this either, Levy did say:
“We [Levy and Reynolds] love working together, we feel like we get each other, we make each other better. Boy Band is one of the few movies we’re talking about for our future collaborations.”
Well, since he said “one of the few movies” while talking about the collab, this simply states that there will be more masterpieces to come from the director-actor duo (if Levy notably continues to keep quiet about Deadpool 3).
As for whether the trailer for Deadpool 3 would drop during the Super Bowl or not: Tune in live to CBS or Nickelodeon at 6:30 p.m. ET on the 11th of February, 2024, to find out!
