Featuring Chris Hemsworth as the titular character, Thor turned into a film series under the Marvel banner. Now, according to Marvel Updates, the MCU is set to come up with the final installment Thor 5 with major plot points.
Sharing the update via X, the scooper account revealed several details like character introduction, tone setting, and even Chris Hemsworth’s character development in the upcoming movie. Although nothing has been confirmed so far, fans appear upset with this constant change in Thor’s character which now appears truly disrespectful.
Alleged Update Surrounding Chris Hemsworth’s Thor 5
Chris Hemsworth made his MCU debut as the titular character in the 2011 installment Thor, following which he joined the Avengers in the 2012 blockbuster The Avengers. Thereafter, the character repeatedly reprised his role in three other standalone Thor installments while simultaneously appearing in the Avengers sequels.
Now, after the conclusion of Thor: Love and Thunder in 2022, Chris Hemsworth is currently making headlines for his return in his fifth and final standalone MCU installment. According to reports from Marvel Updates, the studio is set to return with Hemsworth as the titular character, while maintaining a few other requirements.
According to the scooper account, Marvel is allegedly looking forward to making Thor 5 a multiversal film, with serious and epic undertones. Further, since the movie will mark the end of the solo Thor movies, the fifth installment is rumored to feature Enchantress as one of the protagonists, while simultaneously shedding the spotlight on Hercules.
Fans Are Upset With Constant Change in Thor’s Character
Following the alleged updates from the scooper account, as fans realize that MCU’s Thor 5 will mark the end of Chris Hemsworth’s solo run, they appear upset with the report. But what disappoints them the most is the repeated change in tone for the titular character. Almost getting tossed around like a rag doll, with Marvel changing his character from serious to goofy and then again back to serious, fans believe it’s absolutely disrespectful.
Initially, when Chris Hemsworth started his journey in MCU, he was introduced as an impulsive, headstrong, defiant but naive God of Thunder in 2011. Since then his character kept developing with the consequences of his actions. However, with Marvel’s progression of movies, as Taika Waititi joined to direct Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, fans witnessed the impending tonal shift for the franchise much like the mockumentary-style short films directed by Waititi.
