Creator Robert Kirkman: Why Invincible Season 2 Was Divided Into Two Parts

The second season premiere of Invincible drew an impressive crowd of viewers, far larger than that of the first season. This time, the story is divided in half for a variety of reasons, as creator Robert Kirkman explained in an interview with Collider.

Fans will have to wait until Season 2 ends in large part due to that drawn-out “production process”. Although Kirkman promised a shorter wait for Season 3, he is well aware that it has been far too long since we last saw Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) on screen:

“It’s a little bit of the production process just because ramping things up has taken a lot longer than we thought.”

The popularity of Invincible’s second season has tripled over that of its first, proving the program’s extraordinary success. Furthermore, in an interview with Deadline, executive producer Marge Dean revealed that Amazon did not make a substantial investment in the series.

“I love Amazon, they’re great, but there was barely any marketing for this show. This thing just popped up but I had no idea what it was or what was going to happen.”

As we eagerly await the release of the second installment of season 2, we can all raise a collective toast to the incredible creative team behind Invincible

The second part of Invincible Season 2 will debut on Prime Video on March 14, 2024.
