The upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on June 9 is set to be a megaton as it’ll be the first to feature the full trinity of the brand’s own studios, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard. Moreover, there will also be a 45-minute presentation right after the show, which many speculate is for Call of Duty Gulf War.
Several rumors have been swirling about the games that will show up in the main event, though, and it seems Gears of War fans are encouraged to tune in, as the long-awaited Gears of War 6 could make its debut here, marking five years since Gears 5 launched in 2019.

In a recent interaction on Twitter, McIntyre hinted at new Gears of War information in June, which is when the Showcase will be held. This is pretty much straight confirmation, but also aligns with the fact that Gears is a huge IP, and would be reserved for larger presentations.
The wait for Gears 6 has been particularly long, and fans are eager to see where the story goes next. Moreover, developer The Coalition has also spent the past few years mastering Unreal Engine 5, so graphics-wise, the next Gears game should invoke shock and awe.
The Xbox Showcase is shaping up to be a pivotal event for Microsoft. With the absence of a traditional E3, the company has an opportunity to steal the spotlight and generate significant hype for its upcoming titles. While Bleszinski wasn’t a fan of Snyder’s Army of the Dead, he believes Snyder excels when adapting established properties. He points to Snyder’s work on 300 and the Dawn of the Dead remake as examples of his ability to translate existing material into visually stunning and action-packed films, believing his style would be a good fit for the dark and gritty world of Gears of War.
