Life has been a movie for Sterling K. Brown and Ryan Michelle Bathe, who found their match in each other back during their freshman year after making it to the play Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. However, the road ahead was far from smooth for the two teens, as the This Is Us actors would share an on-and-off bond throughout their college years.
However, the biggest obstacle they faced came up for a pretty crazy reason. Bathe recalled that her mother and grandmother predicted that the Primetime Emmy Winner was up to no good.
Ryan Michelle Bathe Was Told That Sterling K. Brown Was Up to No Good
Sterling K. Brown has been pretty vocal about his love for Ryan Michelle Bathe, numerously stressing that his life would’ve been too small if it wasn’t for the First Wives Club Star. But before tying the knot in 2007, during the early phase of their eventful relationship, Bathe broke up with Brown for a solid three and a half years. However, her decision to part ways didn’t involve any real issues with Brown himself, but was because of her mother and grandmother’s supposed vision.
In an interview with OWN, the First Wives Club Star detailed the crazy situation, stating that her mother and grandmother, who believed they were psychic, shared a supposed vision about Brown. Per them, the Emmy winner was up to no good and was evil, as they advised her to be afraid of him.
“The vision was he is this horrible person, you need to be deathly afraid of him, he’s evil, they basically gave me the full-court press,”
While it wasn’t the lone obstacle their relationship came across, it was definitely the most baffling one. Of course, unlike the supposed vision, Brown turned out to be a pretty loving husband and father.
Sterling K. Brown Didn’t Wait Long to Announce His Love for Her After Reuniting
Eventually, after crossing paths again in the early 2000s, Sterling K. Brown, who previously showcased an interest in joining the DCU, was hellbent on announcing his love to Ryan Michelle Bathe. The actor recalled Bathe being on the treadmill when he decided to tell her that “she’s the love of my life”, and joined the actor in her run through Koreatown after the confession. He recalled (via The Talk),
“She was on the treadmill working out, and I had this epiphany, ‘I have to go tell this woman she’s the love of my life. I go to her apartment, I tell her, and she’s like, ‘Well, I’m working out right now,’ and I was like, ‘No, I can see that — I’ll just talk to you while you’re on the treadmill,’ and she’s like, ‘Well, I feel like going outside. So I’m gonna go on a run.’ … So I’m like dressed [in a suit] and she starts running through Koreatown and I start running along with her … Brother had to work, but it was well-worth while.”
Since then, the two have been running along strongly for almost two decades now, with both also sharing successful careers in showbiz.
