Yes, you read it right, because Todo has most certainly returned to the manga thanks to an old backup plan he made with Mei Mei. And now that he has seemingly come back to rescue his brother and fight alongside him, this also signifies that an old theory about his Boogie Woogie technique could just be true, and fans may experience that iconic technique returning once again.

Jujutsu Kaisen #259 Confirms Aoi Todo’s Return to the Saga

In the recently released chapter #259 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, mangaka Gege Akutami sensei chopped off yet another fan-favorite character, Choso, who sacrifices himself to the King of Curses’ flames after saving his brother Yuji from the same. However, they also brought about one other fan-favorite character at the same time.

As was seen in the manga, Todo has returned to the lore to aid Yuji once again. As per the flashback shown in the chapter, he and Mei Mei were able to do this because of a backup plan they had made previously. This plan was to use Mei Mei’s Crows and Todo’s Boogie Woogie technique to evacuate people from within Sukuna’s domain.

Needless to say, Todo returns and even tells Yuji that “everyone else is most likely fine!!” so that he doesn’t have to worry about it. But what’s actually worrisome here is the fact that Todo had previously lost one of his hands thanks to Mahito, and even claimed that his iconic technique was “dead” because of the same.

For those who may be unversed with this technique, the Boogie Woogie requires its user to clap their hands together and apply the required amount of cursed energy to the same to turn on this technique. That being said, Todo’s lost hand must have proven to be a problem to initiate this technique. So how did he use it again?

Inevitably enough, this hints that one old return theory about this very cursed energy technique is actually true, and Todo was able to use his technique again the same.

According to this old theory, Todo can apparently use this very potent weapon of his once again, even after losing his hand, by using some other cursed tool to instead transfer his cursed energy. Plus, as fans already know, Todo’s hand cannot regrow by idle transfiguration because of the limitations of the reverse curse technique.

That being said, it hints that Todo could have once again ignited that power of his by either using a prosthetically created arm powered by cursed energy (basically a Cursed Prosthesis), or he could have used some other cursed tool to do the same, according to the theory. This makes sense too after considering the case of Mechamaru in the saga.

Talking about Mechamaru, there are also quite a few things that Todo could have used to once again make use of his iconic techniques. This includes replacing his hand with Mechamaru’s limb as well, which could be possible after identifying if his limb is actually compatible with his own technique and energy flow.

Considering all of these options of using a cursed prosthesis or Mechamaru’s limb to reignite his jujutsu technique doesn’t seem too far-fetched judging from how Aoi Todo has already returned to the saga. But to know for sure if this theory is actually what truly helped the sorcerer use his cursed energy technique again, fans will have to tune in to the next chapter.
