That being said, there are still quite a few prominent characters from the saga who are yet to be adapted into live-action, like Whitebeard and a few others. And since they would be ostensibly making their live-action debut soon, we have compiled a list of all the Hollywood actors who could play 5 of the most major characters remaining to be cast. Read on!

5 Hollywood Actors Who Could Be Perfect For One Piece Live-Action

Following the end of season 1 of the series, there are indeed a lot of characters yet to be introduced in the series because not more than the main ensemble of Monkey D. Luffy’s crew and a few others have been seen in live-action so far. This includes both important characters and other minor characters.

Since there are a whooole lot of minor characters, for now, we’ll just discuss some of the most necessary ones who are expected to be introduced sooner or later in the live-action saga and which Hollywood actor could play them. These include Whitebeard, Trafalgar D. Water Law, Boa Hancock, Blackbeard, and Nico Robin.

1. Whitebeard: Clancy Brown

The captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, Edward Newgate is one of the most compassionate characters in Monkey D. Luffy’s universe despite his immense strength and physical build. Renowned as being the ‘Strongest Man in the World’, he is yet to appear in the live-action series of the saga.

While there are a lot of options for who could perfectly embody him, Highlander star Clancy Brown could be one of the finest choices. If anything, he would succeed in not only maintaining that charm to Newgate but also leading the character with the perfect authority through his unique voice and strong presence. Other than him, Vin Diesel could also be considered for the role.

2. Trafalgar Law: Antonio Galeas

Trafalgar D. Water Law (commonly referred to as simply Trafalgar Law) is another one of the most prominent characters in the Eiichiro Oda-helmed saga. The captain cum doctor of the Heart Pirates, he can be ruthlessly cruel when needed but does not support the idea of needless killing. And just like Newgate, he too has a perfect candidate to represent him in live-action: Antonio Galeas.

Though the name would sound unfamiliar to most, Galeas is an actor and has starred in a minor role in filmmaker Mike Fox’s recent movie Sleepers. And judging from his physical appearance and facial features, Antonio Galeas could quite literally be the perfect choice to embody Trafalgar D. Water Law. Other than him, Jefri Nichol could be considered a good candidate too.

3. Boa Hancock: Ana de Armas

Okay, we know what you’re thinking: There’s a great chance that Boa Hancock, who is the ‘Snake Princess’ of Amazon Lily and the captain and ruler of the Kuja Pirates, doesn’t appear in live-action anytime soon because she pretty much appears after episode 400 in the anime. But there are some good choices on who could embody her character and we’ll be discussing the same.

First off, since she seems to have quite a few Chinese influences, a Chinese actress like Fan Bingbing could be good for her role. But if they want to cast someone more experienced from Hollywood, then actress Ana de Armas wouldn’t be a bad choice either. Apart from these two, Phillipean actress Kim Domingo could also nail it as Boa Hancock.

4. Blackbeard: Anthony Anderson

Although he is the infamous captain-turned-admiral of the Blackbeard Pirates and one of the primary villains of Monkey D. Luffy’s universe, Marshall D. Teach is yet to be introduced in the live-action series. And for now, we have two candidates who could perfectly portray the character of the vicious antagonist.

First off is Anthony Anderson, the actor-cum-comedian renowned for the comedy series Black-ish. Although he is a comedian, he could be the perfect Teach in live-action if guided accurately. But if not him, then the second choice could be Mexican comedian Felipe Esparza, who could, also, inevitably kill it as the formidable villain.

5. Nico Robin: Erin Maloney

Nico Robin is the renowned ‘Devil Child’ and archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates, and is yet to make her live-action debut in Netflix’s masterpiece series. However, even though nothing can be said or confirmed as of yet, she too seems to have a real-life counterpart, just like every other character from the saga listed above.

For Robin, the most accurate choice could be the actress Erin Maloney. Though she currently doesn’t hold any credible experience as an actress in a movie or series, her physical appearance is uncannily similar to that of Nico Robin. Plus, she has also been highly rumored for the role (as per trstdly), so let’s just hope the rumors turn out to be true.

You can stream season one of the One Piece live-action series on Netflix.
