Hiddleston recently attended the Hulu on Disney+ launch event on April 5, when he gave a heartfelt shoutout to Charlie Cox as Daredevil, while offering his opinion on who should be Loki’s next opponent.
Addressing how Charlie Cox has got his show Daredevil: Born Again coming up as a part of MCU, Tom Hiddleston urged fans to watch it. After Daredevil was canceled as a part of DefenderVerse from Netflix in 2019, it took years to finally revive the character. And now that Cox’s Daredevil is getting the recognition he deserves, Hiddleston shared a heartwarming message for his old friend.

Following his hit standalone Disney+ show Loki, which mesmerized audiences with the plot and performance, MCU’s beloved God of Mischief, Tom Hiddleston, recently attended the HuluDisney+ launch event on Friday, April 5. Walking the red carpet, the actor was hounded with questions when he addressed one particularly interesting topic about who his character should fight next.
Revealing who he wants to see as Loki’s opponent, Tom Hiddleston addressed all the characters that are gradually becoming a part of the MCU. Speaking outside of the original MCU characters, Hiddleston noted how the X-Men are slowly venturing into the cinematic universe as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine did with Deadpool 3. Further, he addressed his old friend Charlie Cox’s character Daredevil, who appeared in MCU via Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movie and is also set to have his own standalone MCU show.
“The X-Men, they’re back in there, right? Wolverine’s in there. My friend Charlie Cox plays Daredevil, and he’s got his show coming up.” Hiddleston told Variety.
It seems Tom Hiddleston offered a subtle shoutout to his friend Charlie Cox’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series. Urging his fans and audiences to watch the show, by informing them about Cox’s work, Hiddleston then noted his admiration towards the actor. Sharing a heartwarming message to Cox, the Loki actor noted how they have previously worked together.

Charlie Cox is Venturing into the MCU with Daredevil: Born Again
Meanwhile, as Tom Hiddleston urged fans to take a look at Charlie Cox‘s Daredevil: Born Again, it’s certainly important to address the demands of our absolute favorite God of Mischief. Well, Cox previously had his standalone Netflix show Daredevil, which earned rave reviews as a part of the DefenderVerse. However, after Netflix canceled all DefenderVerse shows in 2019, Daredevil got shelved as well.
Thereafter, it took years for any of the DefenderVerse shows to relaunch or even have the hope of hitting television. Recently, after Charlie Cox’s Daredevil appeared in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, there seemed a possibility for the DefenderVerse characters to appear in the MCU. Soon, Marvel announced their decision to work on relaunching Cox’s Daredevil as a part of the MCU with Daredevil: Born Again.
According to Collider, the character’s continuation in Daredevil: Born Again will reportedly arrive with a total of eighteen episodes and will follow the 1986 comic book run from Marvel by the same name. The show will once again spot Charlie Cox in the lead role as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, alongside Vincent D’Onofrio’s return as Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk. Jon Bernthal, as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, is also set to appear in the upcoming show.
Although the plot of the show has been successfully kept under wraps, it was previously rumored that Daredevil: Born Again will follow the events mentioned in Marvel’s Devil’s Reign. But with a lack of confirmation as such, media outlets could only verify that the upcoming show will pick up right where we last saw Daredevil in Netflix’s version.
Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2025.
